The Motorola Symbol LS9203 is a high-performance omnidirectional display barcode scanner that is compact, high-performance, stable and reliable for use in virtually any POS environment. The Symbol LS9203 offers some new versatility, either as an on-board barcode scanner or as a handheld barcode scanner; its integrated lightweight cradle can be attached to the desktop or fixed on the desktop. Let us introduce the operation method of the symbol LS9203 laser scanning platform.

Install the scanner interface cable
1. Connect the barcode scanner interface cable to the host.
2. Insert the standard connector of the barcode scanner interface cable into the interface cable port on the back of the symbol LS9203 laser scanning platform.
3. Push the barcode scanner connector into the port until you hear a "tick" sound. The green LED illuminates and emits three short, high beeps to indicate that the barcode scanner is operational.

Note: Different hosts require different cables. The connectors shown in each chapter that involves the host are just a few examples.

Connect the power supply (if necessary)
If the host does not have a barcode scanner powered, the scanner needs to be connected to an external power source:
1. Connect the interface cable to the back of the barcode scanner as shown above (installing the scanner interface cable).
2. Connect the other end of the interface cable to the host (see the host manual to find the correct port).
3. Plug the power supply into the jack of the interface cable.
4. Plug the other end of the power supply into an AC outlet.

Configuration barcode scanner
To configure the barcode scanner, you can use the barcodes included with this manual. Related using bar code menu is scanner programming information. The barcode scanner supports connection to the host system via RS232, keyboard emulation, Wand emulation and USB.

Unplug the interface cable:
1. Press the plug clip and gently pull back to remove the standard connector of the installed cable.
2. To connect a new cable, follow the steps in the above figure (Installing the scanner interface cable).
