In many cases, we need to re-burn the system files of the handheld computer. How do we re-burn the operating system of the handheld terminal? Below we will solve this problem, here we use the Symbol MC9000 as an example, of course, other models of handheld terminals can also follow this step, and the only difference is the cold boot and the way to enter the IPL.

1. First of all, we must determine what method to use to burn the operating system files into our handheld computer. We can choose serial port burning or USB connection burning. Of course, we can also choose Airbeam@Smart method.

2. The method of Airbeam@Smart is basically the same as the steps of the above two methods. Then we will focus on the other two methods. In fact, whether it is a serial port or a USB connection, the only difference is the connection method. The general steps are identical.

3. The files to be burned are all ".hex" files. Whether using a serial port or a USB connection, we can use the tool TCM. Of course, we can also use other tools, which is not the main one.

4. Open the TCM software, select the Load Terminal icon in the navigation, and then select the connection method, If it is a serial port connection, then we also need to specify the transmission rate and some corresponding transmission information, as shown in the following table:

5. Connect the Symbol MC9000 to the personal PC through the cradle or other means - serial port connection or USB connection, and then enter the IPL of the Symbol MC9000. The method of entering is to cold boot the Symbol MC9000, and press scan trigger when the cold boot is completed, and you will be taken to the IPL of the Symbol MC9000.

6. Select Partition Table > Platform > Application > Windows CE in order. After selecting each file that needs to be burned, follow the system prompts to select serial port mode or USB mode. It should be noted that the Partition Table is the file that must be fired in the first order. On the TCM side, select the appropriate file and click Download to burn.

7. After the above four files are burned, to cold boot the handheld computer and the new operating system will start running.
