Handheld Devices such as the Symbol MC3190/MC32N0/MC2180, which use the Windows CE operating system, will experience some problems such as partial settings and network loss after a cold boot. How to do a cold boot without losing previous settings and network? Specific steps are as follows.

1. Install the RemCapture software to the computer and connect the handheld mobile computer to the computer via the synchronization software.
Cold boot the handheld computer, then run the RemCapture software, the following dialog appears.

2. Click File, select Baseline, and it appears:

3. Then reconfigure the network settings, program installation and other configurations, warm boot the handheld computer after the configuration is complete. After the warm boot, wait for the handheld computer to connect with the computer, open RemCapture, click File, select Difference, and the following appears:

4. After completing these operations, click Save.

5. It will generate the following 3 files (I am demonstrating with the Symbol MC3000, so the generated name will be Symbol MC3000C50B, the name of the file should be generated by Symbol MC9000 is Symbol MC9000C42 20080117-162513.reg, etc.):

6. Copy all files to the application, then cold boot the handheld mobile computer and the configuration will not be lost.
