First to check if it is an external circuit failure, after the external circuit failure is removed, if it is determined that the vehicle computer is damaged, the vehicle computer board can be inspected. According to statistics, 90% of damaged vehicle computers can be repaired. The following is a breakdown of common faults and their repairs methods in actual work:
1. The Power supply partial failure of vehicle computer
Generally, The Power supply partial failure of vehicle computer is caused by when the car is charged, the voltage of the charger is adjusted too high, or the polarity is reversed, or the key is turned on, or the engine is loose during engine operation, making the generator to directly feed the vehicle computer board and other reasons. In this case, components such as high-power Zener diodes are generally burned out, and replacement is easy, and it is easier to repair.
2. Input/output partial failure
Generally, input/output partial failure is caused by the amplifying circuit components are burned out, and sometimes the steel-clad lines on the circuit board are blown. For example, after a repair shop refurbished a car, it found that the engine could not be started, and if the key was turned on for a long time, the gasoline directly flowed from the injector into the cylinder, overflowing after overflowing, and checking the external circuit did not find any problem. It can be concluded that the output control in the computer is faulty. When the computer box is opened, it is found that a high-power triode that amplifies the control signal of the injector has broken down short circuit, causing the nozzle to be energized to be in a normally open state. After replacing a similar type of triode and cleaning the engine oil, the engine will run normally. It should be noted that many EFI vehicles often have various failures after being painted. This is because after the baking, the heat and heat are accumulated inside the car, especially inside the circuit equipment, and the heat is deep inside. It is relatively slow to emit, and electrical equipment is prone to failure when it is working at high temperatures. Therefore, do not drive the car out immediately after baking, but should be fully cooled before starting. If the production needs to vacate the paint room, you can use the manpower to push the car out. After it is fully cooled, start it again.
3. Memory partial failure
The memory can be divided into a read only memory, a programmable read only memory, a random access memory and an adaptive memory. For the problem of eliminating programmable memory (EPROM or EEPROM), you can replace it. You need to find a known good memory chip with program content, and then buy a blank chip of the same model. The program is read from the original film by the programmer, and then written into the blank chip. The new chip can be copied, and the new chip is loaded into the computer. However, the average car manufacturer has stipulated that it can only copy at most 3-7 times. After the number is exceeded, it can no longer be used. Some manufacturers cannot copy the chip once by encryption.
4. Special failure
For the flooded vehicle, the vehicle computer board may corrode, causing component pins to break, stick or damage components, and repair or replace components by inspection. For example, if a repair shop picks up a Cadillac car, the fault phenomenon is: if the headlights or other electrical equipment are turned on/off during normal engine operation, the exhaust pipe will be released. In severe cases, the exhaust pipe may burst. After inspection, it was found that there was no problem with the external circuit. It was suspected that the vehicle computer was faulty. Turning on the grounding position of the vehicle computer, the shielding was invalid due to the disconnection, and the oxygen sensor signal was caused by interference from other electrical appliances. After soldering, it returned to normal.
The above are several common computer faults. In the actual work, you will encounter various fault phenomena. As long as you understand the principle and master certain methods, the specific problems are analyzed in detail, and there are solutions.Frequently Asked Questions -
